GCU Center for the Arts 2024-25 Season Brochure

Overview
The Grand Canyon University (GCU) 2024-2025 Center for the Arts season brochure is a professionally printed and widely distributed publication that showcases the university’s upcoming performances and events. Designed to engage and inform audiences, the brochure was produced and seen across GCU’s campus, serving as a key promotional piece for the arts community. During my internship at Canyon Creative, I contributed to the design and layout of this publication, ensuring a visually compelling and user-friendly experience.
Design Process
Layout & Visual Hierarchy: The brochure was structured for easy readability, utilizing clear typography and strategic spacing to highlight essential event details. The design balanced aesthetics with functionality, ensuring that the information was accessible and engaging.
Brand Consistency: Adhering to GCU’s visual identity, the brochure incorporated university colors, logos, and branding elements while allowing for creative flourishes that reflected the energy of the performances.
Featured Work: My contributions included designing specific spreads within the brochure, refining layouts, and ensuring a cohesive visual flow. Additionally, my design for the GCU Film Festival poster was featured prominently on pages 28 and 30.
Challenges
One of the main challenges was balancing a large volume of content while maintaining a clean, aesthetically pleasing layout. Ensuring consistency across multiple sections required close attention to detail and collaboration with the creative team. Additionally, preparing the design for professional printing required precision to ensure high-quality production.
Outcome
The final brochure was professionally printed and distributed across GCU’s campus, reaching students, faculty, and visitors. It served as an elegant and informative piece that effectively promoted the university’s arts programming. My contributions were credited on page 4, marking my role in shaping a key promotional asset for the GCU arts community.
